Personal

I was born in Sri Lanka and immediately put up for adoption (my biological parents couldn’t afford to keep me) and adopted by Joseph and Audrei Zahid. I have an adopted sister, Joyce, who works as an RN at Karachi Adventist Hospital. My father is a minister and has served in various roles of leadership for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Pakistan, most recently as conference president and chairman of the seminary. My mother has worked as an office secretary and as an educator for most of her career. She continues to serve in her retirement.

I enjoy reading books, blogs, news magazines, almost anything in print. I am known to read entire books in one sitting. I do most of my reading on the iPad, and at Barnes and Nobles (I buy from them from time to time so I’m not a complete freeloader). Other than that, I enjoy the mountains, (I dream of climbing Everest some day), most racquet sports, and Facebook. I am a baptized member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
